Summer Skills & Power Skating Camp in Farmington Hills, MI Power Tech Specialists
Power up your skating skills with our Summer Power Skating Camp! This 7-week course will focus on increasing stride strength, power, and improving the explosiveness of stops and starts. The summer camp has time slots for all levels of skaters from including Professional, College, High School, and Youth Skaters.
A hockey player’s game relies on strong skating skills. While many players can be adept at shooting and stick handling, what separates mediocre players from elite players is the ability to skate with speed, power, and strength. Professional scouts and coaches say that 90% of a player’s overall game relies on skating, which is why power skating instruction is paramount to becoming a better player.
The purpose of power skating is to develop proper skating technique utilizing proper body position, using all edges of the skate, quick and powerful hockey turns, crossovers, starts and stops, forward and backward strides, balance and agility.

Development Skating Camp (Pre-College/Youth)
The development camp focuses on teaching the basics of power skating to develop proper skating habits. It is even more important for young skaters to learn the mechanics of power skating early on in order to create a foundation for fast and powerful skating.
As skaters progress through the Development Camp, they will learn proper technique for starts and stops, knee drive, body balance, and turns. When paired with our off-ice conditioning program, young skaters will develop quickly and properly into elite skaters.
Elite Skating Camp (Pro/College)
The elite camp is for professional, semi-professional, and collegiate players that are looking to optimize and perfect their skating technique through advanced power skating instruction. The elite course assumes that skaters already know the ins and outs of power skating, and will focus on perfecting skating mechanics to world-class levels.
Advanced skaters will learn new ways to connect their off-ice training to on-ice results. This is done by reforming muscle memory with proper, powerful skating mechanics to improve explosiveness, power, strength, and balance while performing at high speeds.
